I found out my key fob was waterproof over the summer. I was washing the GT in my swimming trunks and had the keys in my pocket. Decided to jump in the pool and it was 15 minutes before I realized I still had them in my pocket. Still worked though.

 

I just put in a load of wash and 10 minutes later went to go move the car. Can't find the key. Checked my pants in the wash, not there. Looked around the house some more, then went back to the washer, got rid of the water and took things out. I see alight at the bottom which is the LED from my license plate holder FOB. I opened up the key fob and there was a rubber piece covering the battery and making a seal. Nice!

The license plate holder FOB just needed to be dried off too and it's fine.

Electronics can get wet. They get washed when being built. Just don't put power to it!
