Was told I cant buy a whole new seat.

I also have a 00 Focus and the front seat is broken. I called the local ford dealer to price/buy a replacement and was told they can only sell parts, not a whole seat. The exception would be in the event of a fire or theft, but a police report would be required. Anyone know why this is? Sounds like BS to me, but I can not imagine why they would not want the sale, so there has got to be something to it.

It's true. I'm a Parts Mgr. for 37 years. They sell it all in pieces. Just find out what part of the seat is broken and buy that.

Can you call a salvage yard, find one and switch covers if necessary?

I am not real keen on ripping it apart, but it appears I am going to have to. Four bolts looked a whole lot easier to me. Why won't they sell it whole?
