Me too. Last of the Draftees.
Saw Battle History of the Army on History Channel. It said that the years 1972-1975 were the worst years in the Army's history as far as discipline, motivation, etc. I thought something was wrong !!!! Actually, I contributed to the mayhem. Don't thank me for my service, it wasn't pretty.

Served 30+ years in the US Coast Guard. Flight mechanic on rescue Helicopters. Been all around, Alaska, Hawaii, east coast, it was a great ride, and I loved serving. Retired in 2008 as a CWO4. Now living in North Carolina.

Currently on 5th year in the Navy and in the middle of an 18 month tour in the sandbox. Looking forward to getting home and picking up my new Mustang in June lol

Can't believe I have missed this thread-
US Army 69-71 Infantry..... lucky, 6 days before going
to Vietnam orders changed and sent to Alaska..... always preferred
cold to heat ! ! !

Active Duty Air Force for the last 16+ years. Originally worked as an electrician, then moved onto computers. Less than two years left in Germany and then back stateside. I've will have spent a total of 8 years in Germany and 4 in Hawaii, pretty rough assignments
