this 429 powered generator has been faithfully providing emergency electrical power to the place i work for 40 years .. runs on LP .. it starts up on a regular schedule even with no power failers .. i remember about that time frame when a local farm implement seller had those monster 3 wheeled fertilizer spreaders on his lot .. they had 428 cobra jet motors in them .. even down to the aluminum valve covers and the holley carb .. now we know what ford does with leftover engines

That was an awesome car that should have been in the show. Good eye!
Ratstang, lol.
It's amazing where these engines end up. In India, they'll take older car engines and rig them up on motorcycles.

I think you were the only one that knew what it was when I put it in the name that object thread we had on SF. Used to have a couple more of them, but they seem to have sprouted legs and walked off after loaning them out.

anyone know the law " verbatom " on open headers " ie loud mufflers " .. i know some hog motorcycles are just as noisey as my stang without pipes .. i love the open header sound .. it`s my understanding that you are not violating any noise law untill someone complains ..

I don't know, I'd say it depends more on what local ordinances are, and how strictly they want to enforce them. I know I could drive one around here and nobody would bat an eye. It might catch the attention of a cop if I spent much time in town with it like that, but I'd be raising hell about it if they wrote me a ticket considering that the groups of Harleys with strait pipes are just as loud or louder. Not to mention all of the illegals that roll around with $10K stereos booming in their Escalades that you can hear coming a mile away.

I know the city of madison police love giving out tickets, I got lucky the first time I went through with open headers, and I hope I am the 2nd time I go through.

a person could make a small fortune in the firewood buisness now days .. i bet some are doing it .. i know some may feel it wrong to profit from others misfortune but if my yard was full of downed trees i certainly would welcome a person hauling them away for furture sale ..
