Ill post em in white so you can highlight to read my opinion.
*highlight below*
It didnt so much as follow the game, but it kept with the theme overall. Dark, cold, and pretty violent. Walbergs attitude fit Payne's perfect in my opinion, he played hte part extremely well. The cold hearted person you just basically do not want to get in the way of. its been so long since I played the game, I didnt remember the whole premis, just the basics, but I know it was different from the film.
The effects were great, although I was highly dissapointed in the "Bullet Time" or lack of. The one time it was truely apperent they tried to pull it off, was very "matrixy" and just could have been soooo much more spectacular, like what the game was. The valkeries in the movie were pretty sick looking and the effects of fire in the sky and such to me were great. When Max took the chemical enhance to become like the others (thoughtfully invincible), the ashes coming out of the sky around was prob one of the coolest scenes to me.
Oh and the chick from "that 70's show".. she's in it, but while hot, she doesnt belong in my opinion. Now her sister that was in it was definitely drool worthy and the fact that max kicked her out of bed without touching her was beyond me.
The tattoo the people had was sweet however, if I were really into tat's i'd prob get it on each arm. I was depressed with the main initial bad guy (cant remember his name, big dude, bald head, with a huge f'n machete), his role when he and Max acctually tangled was short as hell and I was rather saddened by it.
Overall since I was a big fan of the game, I am glad I saw it in theatres, if you werent a fan of the game, you prob wouldnt enjoy it as much as I did, but I still think there was aspects of the movie that could have been done much better and incorporated hte game better.

**answers to dougs questitions in white.**
No on the comic book connection, as far as voice over, there was quiet a bit, maybe not as much as the game. honestly it didnt even dawn on me untill you asked to even think about that aspect of it.

**Spoiler to give you the answer on that**
Yes they are imagined. The drug they take that was developed as a soldier enhancement had this side effect that made them "see" demons and such. That also explained teh tattoo of the valkery wings on thier arms, they were what protected the soldiers in battle. Great explanation of it is given in the movie by the guy in the tattoo shop.

My sister saw it. She said it was good, but not amazing (and she has pretty good taste in these type of movies). None the less, I'll still see it after being a fan of the game years ago.
