EXACTLY... I'm sorry ladies, but I've never known a group of women who have stayed friends for very long. (alright April, we should stop hijacking this thread, although its been fun)

Even though your friend did not wait the 6 months (as stated earlier) you should still respect him and his relationship enough to ask how he feels about it. I think that it would at best make you the better "man" in this situation. If he tells you he is OK, then go ahead and ask her out. If he is not sure how he would feel, explain to him that you and her are just 'friends' now, and not even sure it anything more will develop.

And people hijack threads no matter what the mods say... some people can't help it.

:P

It is irrelevant whether or not the break-up is mutual because no break-up is mutual, there is only one person who wanted to break up and the other who doesn't admit he/she didn't want to break up.
I guess I would be the exception to that rule. A couple years ago I was dating this one ho and decided I din't want to deal with her drama anymore. So I called her and left her a message to call me back (of course I didn't say why I called in the message)... Well she never called me back. So about a week later I called her to make sure we were on the same page. Everything seemed to work out ok.... I think.

THe first week was fun though...

Find you a new woman!

Seriously.

Then again I may not be the authority on it-too old and married too long.

I did once set up one of my friends with a castoff boyfriend when I was 16 and they wound up married with a passel of kids.

yea, I think finding a new girl may be the answer. Too much going on with this one. There are plenty fish in the sea, and love aint meant to be this hard.

Fishing is more fun when you just cast your bait out there and let it sit. If you don't like what you catch you can always throw it back. Just don't cast too many times. Your arm will get tired and you'll end up doing more work than its worth. If the fishes want to bite at your hook, let em. You'll have plenty of time to be "sittin' on the dock of the bay watchin the tides roll away"

Now, if only I can learn to follow the philosophy I preach!

Have you ever shaken someone's hand full of blisters and you have to excuse yourself, run to the bathroom, and scrub it down to the bone?
