Been a Christian since 1984. Grew up Catholic and knew the bible frontwards and back. Didn't have Jesus in the right spot though. I have found it increasingly difficult to be a model Christian in this day and age.
Not because of persecution, but because of pressures by society on our young people. Sure it was difficult for my generation in the 70's. You could find drugs and sex anywhere anytime. I never had a major problem because it wasn't in my face 24-7 and I had a mom who rode my butt. Today, music, television, print advertising and the like are bombarding our youngns all the time. Kids have no real sense of responsibility, accountablity or a calling to a higher power. Don't get me wrong, the world is not going to HEII in a handbasket. There are many great kids out there. I do think it's a little more challenging for the adults today though to get them going in the right direction.

"Dealing with non-Christians is like dealing with liberals.
They can't win and the truth will always set them free".

Here's my 2 cents: I think that if you love GOD and are a Christian, then you should want to go to church to hear about the one who died for you. All Mustang lovers read books and go to car shows etc.. All sports fans go to games to hear and see their team play, so WE Christians ought to want to go to church to hear the word and see other believers. Don't get me wrong, I'd problably choose a Bengals game over church, but NOT EVERY SUNDAY!!!! Church is what you make out of it just like everything else. If you ask God to speak to your heart during the service, then you will be spoken to. The Bible says ask and you will receive. If you don't like a certain church, don't take it out on all churches. Test the spirits and differnet churches to find one that relates to you the most. But keep in mind that you are the church!!!! We must live GODLY lifestyles everyday, not just Sunday's. OK now I feel like I'm preaching so later dudes.

GOD BLESS

PS Someone please buy my ROUSH. I need a truck for the winter. It is a 2000 Roush Stage 2 with only 30,000 miles. It is VERY VERY FAST and fun to drive.
Call me at 859-389-4211 or 502-863-2763. I will sacrafice this car for $16,000 and not a penny less. Please send someone my way.

Interesting. If I ever decide to marry a Christian, we'll both become Messianic (SP). That form of Judiasm that acknowledges Jesus as the savior. They celebrate the old testmant though, and not the new one. It's kind of like Christianity without the crosses or the Pope. I have a friend who is one and I was at his barmitzva. Pretty interesting stuff there.

They believe in the New Testament they just interpert it through a Jewish context. Example Jesus was born during the feast of booths and was placed in the food tray that is in the booth. The old english interpertation was done with out an understanding of the jewish customs hence they interperted from a Medievil context, a cave and a mangar instead of the more likely Feast of Booths interpertation.

Jesus was born while Joseph and Mary were travelling. They were allowed to stay in a stable behind an inn that was fully occupied in Bethlehem. Jesus was born there and placed in most likely a trough, wrapped up in linen. There was nothing glorious or spectacular about his birth, and as Joseph and Mary were humble young people, the only celebration was done by the "wise men" and a few shepherds who were told the news by an angel. :worship:

I don't think it has anything to do with interpretation getting popularized. That's how it happened according to the original Hebrew text of the Bible.

I just want to say that I am so thankful for this chat board. I am able to access the internet quite often at work and it's so AWESOME to be able to communicate with Christians like all of you. It definitely keeps me in the spirit by hearing your all's comments and stories. Face it, without Christ we are NOTHING!!!! But with HIM, we are destined for eternal life with HIM. When I get to Heaven the first thing I'm going to do is give Jesus a huge hug and thank him for saving my soul. Then I'm going to ask him where the X-BOX room is.

Agree with all above. Just wanted to make sure someone mentioned to remember to keep this thread open-minded and welcoming. To help others find God is the point, after all, and our charge from God as Christians.

You are VERY correct in your outlook on life. I agree 100% with you that it is our job as Christians to lead the unjust to eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. I admit that it is very difficult sometimes to walk a Christian walk 24-7 (especially when you work with sinners like I do). The Bible says be careful who you choose as friends, because you will start acting like them. I try so hard to rub off and let my light shine for The Lord to my friends. They know my beliefs and respect them as well. I am not ashamed to stand up for the Lord and I just want anyone who reads this that does not know Jesus, to hit your knees and let today be the day. You can live forever in paradise (Heaven) just by giving yourself (soul) to God. Ye' must repent and believe in the Lord Jesus as your Savior. Romans 10-9 says it best. But the key word in that verse is "believe". You have to believe.

God Bless all of you
