Just kidding, I know what you mean about a bad network connection causing the system to freeze, used to happen to me all the time with MW2 but I determined it was the disc( had one small scratch in the perfect spot, ) it would work fine most of the time but if the host had ****ty signal, it would freeze at loading.
Anyways for a cheap ok router, the Belkin DB600(? Can't remember the exact one, not the 750 tho) is ok. Bought one for my sister a while ago, still working good did have some funky ish going gone though a few months back (DNS issues it kept saying) did a factory reset, and it's been working fine since.

I was browsing hard drives last night to see what was out there since 14TB on the media center pc is starting to not be enough. I'm seeing 4TB drives for under $200. Nice price, but when one goes, that's a lot to lose!
