If I buy a new laptop/tablet, etc., how or can I get all of the stuff from this one on to the new one?

Just get/borrow a portable hard drive and save over the things you want to keep.

if it's just files ( videos,pictures,etc...) I would just copy them over to the external HD and then to the new computer. This can also be your back up for your files

That's me brother, good ole centurylink. I'm downloading something at 50kb/s, meanwhile my iPhone's LTE is pumping out 10 meg with 1-2 bar of signal. I hate centurylink with a passion!
