It's amazing how much better I feel when I fill up now. When it hits $1.99 I'm throwing a party!

...are you saying that it would take sub-$1 gas to make a difference?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...go-Chavez.html

All this means that Venezuela has missed much of the benefit from the oil boom and, now that prices are falling, Mr Chavez faces huge financial problems. Nobody is sure at what point his government would be unable to pay its bills, but most sources consulted believe this would probably happen if oil falls to $80 a barrel. Yesterday, oil was trading at $79.80.
http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/10/...pec.php?page=1

Not all oil producers are affected by falling prices in the same way. Iran and Venezuela, for example, need $95 a barrel to balance their budgets, according to various estimates. Both Nigeria and Iraq recently said they would reduce their budgets for next year because of lower prices.
Right now we are hovering at $65 per barrel even though gas is still artificially high. Soon the market will correct and I think we will see a significant reduction in per-gallon pricing. Here's to hoping we don't start overusing again!

I feel old saying this, but I remember gas being 89 cents when I was in high school.

Of course, I was driving a 10 mpg '79 F-150 at the time, so it all kind of evened out.

Thanks for making me feel even older.
When I started driving, the F150 didn't exist yet.

There you go again.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize.
I thought I was at the ADULT table.

Yes, that is only about 10% of the total market.
It would only affect it for a short term.
It would also further justify OPEC not to produce at any higher levels.

My math is sound. Only the variables can change.
There are many reasons for the variables to change, but I don't see them changing enough to favor $2.50 a gallon gas ever again
What happened here?

I paid $2.419 at Hess today and just up the street I saw $2.389

I don't usually use Hess in the stang but the price was right and my Shell station is $2.599 for cash and $2.699 for credit.

I hate these stations that charge more for credit now, or should I say less for cash.

It's actually illegal to charge more for a credit purchase, but legal to offer a discount for cash.

Whats the difference???

I haven't seen the cash discount here. Are they wanting actual cash or a debit card?

Cash or debit for the discount. Credit is the higher price.
