Dragged down the road at 45mph, you think they could make out faces?

Sad. They were probably either in too big of a hurry and didn't pay any attention to the lights or just didn't care about their own safety. Either way..its still sad.

Doesn't amaze me. People are stupid. Individuals *can be* smart, but when you get them in a car, a certain amount of get-there-itis sets in, and dumb happens.

I equate it to this: Until I got t-boned in my car, I didn't really pay attention to anyone else on the road. Luckily, it happened about 10 blocks from my house and was under 25 MPH.

Think I learned? Nope. About 2 months later, in another car, I ran into someone about 3 miles from home.

The lessons? Watch for everyone else, ALL of them are bad drivers. And you are too.

And how it appies here? Nobody seems to learn physics of vehicles until a wreck happens. THEN they get it.

Train crossings are the debil!!!1!1eightytwo

Exactly Houtex, nothing amazes me either.

I feel like I'm playing football while I'm driving. I have to sometimes "predict" what other people will be doing. If I'm stopped at a red light, and the other light is on yellow, I'm looking at cars who may be going too fast, and I hesitate when my light turns green. I'm constantly on guard passing cars with drivers on their cell phones. Everywhere you go, you have to be alert.
Now with the "Snowbirds" down here (you know, "Snowbirds", the 70-90 year olds from the Midwest and Northern Rockies who hate winters, but still drive) I really have to be on guard. One whitehair can cause a lot of damage.

I wish there were rules and regulations for certain things. The "Snowbirds" are actually not too bad anymore. They typically drive between 9am-12 noon. But I really wish there was a rule that semi trucks aren't allowed to drive during rush hour. I was in traffic the other day, and two, count them TWO trucks were carrying manufactured homes, blocking two lanes in an already congested highway.

So, yes, nothing amazes me.

(Fade in to an attractive man walking on a sidewalk in a nice middle class neigborhood. A car passes by, and he starts talking

"Being on guard is a good thing. But passing a car while on guard? Why, that's crazy. Being on guard, passing a car, with the driver on a cell phone? Don't do it!

"Y'know, people who pass me while I'm on the cell phone, and they're on guard? I can *feel* their stares. I can sense their derision and misunderstanding.

"I'm a good driver, and I don't need these people to mistrust me while I'm on the phone, and they're passing me. Seem like THEY're the ones I need to be on guard about.

"Why? They're obviously SPEEDING.

"So please, this January 5, vote "Yes" for Proposition 6: The ban for people to be on guard while passing drivers who are on on cell phones. It's just time for speeders to be brought to justice."

I'm MikeyB! and I approve this message.

That's pretty good.

I speed by the cell phone gabbers, because I don't want to be part of the impending "10 car collision" because "Dave told me on the phone that I had to exit at Broadway, but I was 3 lanes over at the Broadway exit."

I am too petrified of trains to go anywhere near them. One of my top four fears trains are.
It gives me the ******* to even be the first in line at the train stop.

No pity from me. These people were idiots:
McClary said three cars attempted to beat the train at the crossing. The first two made it and the Buick was the third.
As far as other drivers...defensive driving! Just assume everyone on the road is a moron and just mentally assume the worst case when you pass/people pass you. Dunno if I've been lucky, prepared or both but 17 years of driving and not one accident.

Thats how I drive/ride in any vehicle. I cannot tell you how many accidents I have avoided this way.

The last thing anyone needs to be doing in the car, is not concentrating.
