I drive an 06' Freestyle LTD AWD.Its really not a beater because of all the neat options but it has been awesome in the Colorado high country and have never lost traction once in blizzard conditions over Vail and Loveland Pass.
A pic from last years Denver blizzard.

Not much snow here in the beach. The T-Bird is my beater/daily driver when the wife isn't driving it though. It's a fun beater with some goodies...

i kept my old car, the one before i got the mustang and im so glad i did! 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis. almost 180,000 miles and still running strong. this summer im going to try for the $50.00 paint job and see how i do. the clear coat failure is so bad that even if i screw up itll still look better than it does now.

Same her in Chicago! My Mustang is my only ride. I have had no problems this snowy winter with the handling. Actually what you need to do is drive like it is snowy not mid summer and you are fine. Drive slow and reasonable. I know it is hard for some people.

Here's my winter beater. The 'Rustang', my 1989 5.0 LX sedan. Bought this car new in January 1989. Seen every winter since then, since it was my main vehicle at the time. I just throw on the Blizzaks and no problem. May I add that it is a great car to do 'donuts' in too.

Hey, I gotta have some fun during the winter months.

That is a GREAT winter car. I'd have a hard time beating on it. It'd probably receive as much care as my 05.

Mine is a pretty nice beater. 2007 Mazda CX7. Great in the snow. Lousy on gas though.
I just got my GT the Begining of Feb. The weather here in Pittsburgh has been so lousy since , that I've only had the mustang out 5 times. Only have 260 miles on it. I'm really itching to ride. It's warming up so hopefully the snow will clear and I can have some fun withthat bad boy.

2005 Trailblazer for me. Bought it new, 57K miles on it now and all i've put into it are brakes, oil, washer fluid, and a battery.

2003 GMC Yukon XL 4x4-best one, heated leather, XM, Bose sound!
2003 GMC Sierra 4x4-no pic but I can tell you it's ugly!

1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L used to be my winter car. Now I'm trying to avoid it at all cost since it sucks on the snow. Probably needs new tires.

Now I'm driving 2005 Ford F-150 4.6L 4x4 during winters. I'll probably sell it in the next few months. Then I'll be looking to buy either older Ranger or Bronco with 4x4.

Add me to the list for whom the S197 GT Coupe IS the "winter beater". The '94 GT gets first dibs to the garage in the winter (it's never seen one) based on seniority....

When I had my 99 GT, the Olds Cutlass was my daily driver.

However, when I had my 86 LX and 87 GT they were my daily drivers.

Right now, since the Impreza is my lease, it's the daily driver. Ah, the beauty of all wheel drive!!!

If I had another Mustang I would definitely drive it year round, except for really bad weather. Now that I don't have my 99 anymore I really miss it and wish I would have driven it more. Like the song goes... "you don't know what you've got till it's gone..."

POS Winter Beater

I drive a POS 2001 Kia Sportage 4x4. The driver's window doesn't work, It has a cassette deck radio that doesnt work, One headlight lens is held in by some folded paper wedged into the space between the light and the fender and it has a bad ignition relay that you have to beat on like Fred Sanford's desk drawer to get it to start sometimes!

'02 GT with ugly 16" steel wheels and snow tires. It did really well with the Michelin Arctic Alpins when they were new. Replaced the rears last year with Firestone Winterforce. Not quite as good in snow, much worse on ice or clean pavement. I'm leaning towards replacing all 4 with Blizzaks next year.
