at some point, some dude from ford said the mustang models would range as high as $60K for some R-like model. Its posted on the forums somewhere, but sometime back in the spring or something.
If this thing goes for $60K, its more the Ford GT's supremacy i'm worried about. For less than half the price (even less if you consider the fact that nobody's ever gonna pay sticker for a GT) you get about 9/10s the car. Well 9/10s in terms of performance anyways, maybe like 1/4 in terms of looks and soul. Either way, Ford's really gonna need that GR-1 with like 600hp for $90K or something.
Stop denying it, this vette is sweet, especially the Z-06. If it were a ford, you'd love it.

300 bhp and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds?
The Z06 will be nipping at the heels of the Ford GT...literally. It's foolish to compare this Vette monster to ANY new Stang. Even the upcoming Cobra will get vaporized by the Z06.
No point comparing prices, either. Might as well be comparing apples to oranges.

it is nice but I had expectedmuch more from it. The press had been talking it up and how the styling would be much more aggresive and a big departure from the reg C6. The only big difference I see here is a hood scoop and wheels.

EDIT: The magazine that published the pics online screwed up and released them early.I'm sure GM contacted them about it already. I'll post some shots when I find them!

The front end of the ZO6 is so low that if you hit a rock or a twig sticking up you'd be done for...
Amazing how light and fast they and how much technology they can get into cars these days!!look at the frame and the body...carbons and plastics and lightweight materials and aluminum/titanium etc...i dont know what to think of it all

This is from one of the friends, Rick Conti, of one of the largest Vette dealerships in Ohio. Rick's always been a stand up guy so I take it as legit.
"I have driven the C6 Z06 and can tell you that is is the fastest car I have ever put my butt into, including the McClaren F1."
Also;
"Ron Fellows has also driven the 06 Z06 and said that it is the fastest and best handling street machine he has ever driven!"
Also a picture.

The vette is the hands down best performance deal on the planet...bar none. IMHO its got a face only a mother could love, but if I had the cash. I'd get one.
lesse 500/475 from 7.0 liters works out to 71.43 hp per liter and 67.86 ft/lbs per liter.
300/320 from 4.6 liters = 65.22 and 69.57 respectively.
Hmmmm.... if that 7 liter was a 4.6 liter = 329/312
Well it looks like Ford is doing a pretty respectable job on the engine scene based on a hp per liter comparison. Although Chevy is doing it with only two valves instead of three.
