The Lexus leaves me cold.
The Viper is now a very "grown up" car now though, and does 90% of what the other two can do, for a lot less money!
the viper was cool because it wasnt a "grown up" car. Look whats going on with other high end cars that have been made every day useful.. they are getting boring.
Yep, it aired in the UK last night.
I won't give away too much, but yes, you can expect a lot of the usual "corners/poor quality plastic" comments. JC also claims it's a £35k car......in the US. That might be the equivalent in $, but over here it's a £60k car.
One great bit shows the car on the ferry crossing the channel. It's a sea of camera phones as everyone stands around the car taking photos. That's EXACTLY the sort of reaction our cars get over here. Yes, it's the "9 year old in us" as he, says. But I don't care, I don't want to grow up
The particular car is Ford UK's Press Car, and it has a horrible lighting conversion on the back, with only 2 rear lights each side (the outter ones being turn signals)

Oh, and be aware.......the show starts with 10 mins on the Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ twins......then 10 mins of "news"........and 10 mins of Amy MacDonald (singer..........cute, and knows her cars) as SIARPC.........so there's actually only 30 mins of Shelby action.
Still, it was great to see the Mustang getting some air time on UK TV

Just remember those of you who complain about it - you're just sounding like a
whiny limey gripey gripey snivel snivel.
Oh... wait...
Sorry Paul!

I think I'm a closet American......
Unfortunately, JC may as well stand for Jesus Christ when it comes to the UK "petrolhead" scene. What he says, often in jest, becomes gospel
We have a UK based general enthusiast car forum ( www.pistonheads.com ) and it's amazing the amount of JC-biased rubbish spouted by people that have never driven an American car
At the end of the show, JC says the GT500 left him drained after a 600 mile drive, as it's "about as refined as a 1970's Ford Escort".
In once sense, he's right. My '05 does remind me of my old Mk3 Capris in that it's a raw driving experience, unlike 99.9% of boring cars out there. The GT500 is a muscle car, not a grand tourer.........but the comment will be taken out of context and used against it.
Ironically, when the '15MY debuts and it's more "European", you can bet your bottom dollar the UK motoring press will complain it's blander and lost that unique American feel
