From Zlicious over on Z06vette.com for the Viper comparisons:
Viper Coupe is still 500hp/500t/500ci and 3,410 lbs
Z06 is 500hp/475t/427ci and 3,130 lbs Motortrend is saying 11.7s.

I would go for the Viper, apart from the back end, it's styling eclipses the 'vette

I know what you are saying, but when you look at the profiles, the Viper look a lot less "generic", nicer curves and curves where there shouldn't be any. I just love the viper. If I had the money for a Z06, I am sure I could rustle up the extra to get a Viper!

this is a very hard choice!
i have always loved the Corvette a lot more than the Viper, but the new front end is so fugly. but the new z06 would be faster i think, and it cost less, so i have to go with the Z06. BUT, the viper looks beautiful, and theyre not all over the place like th vette... so, i dunno
i guess i'm gonna have to go with James on this one

they look very close proportionatly. The Z sounds like it will be 75K while the Viper will be 85. I'd take either but I can't believe the won't tune the Viper higher.

I agree with you. I meant that if you blacked both car's picture out they almost have the same shape. The actual lines of the Viper are much more enhanced than the Vette though.

I'm sticken' with my first thoughts about the Z06 and Viper coupe,...
...Twin sons of different mothers.
Now if only Ford would add the Shelby coupe concept to the mix, in the same price range, then it might be time to trade off the SA-20.

Z06. The thing is just going to annihilate everything in its price segment, and more.

I'd go with the vette based on the fact it is better as a daily driver then the viper and it's probably just as fast on the open roads. Not that I approve of street racing of course.
I do like the styling of the viper, it just looks like it could kick your butt. I just wouldn't want the hassle of driving it around city streets. Which one will have the least amount built? That could have alot to do with it for some who plan on it's collectability.

I dig the viper looks, supposed to come in around an estimated price of 85k, very sweet
then there is the vette, ugly son of a goat herder accidently gets set on fire, struck by lightning and exstinguished with multiple beatings from a knotty ugly stick. estimated price (yeah right I can see the mark-ups now) of 63k
Make mine a vette.
If only Ford could have gotten the GT in at price from 63 to 85k. I think the GT is the best looking out of the three domestic supercars.
I guess I'll go play the lottery tonight, If I hit it, at least I wont have to decide on anything but where to put that 10,000 sq/ft garge.

Personally, ill wait a year or two for the 500hp SVT cobra and hang with em both. (that back seat will come in handy to keep my $40k leftover)
HA...oh wait my life savings amounts to 1500 bucks.......nevermind

The next Cobra should be pretty sweet, but I think the Z06 is gonna have it on a hp per pound basis. I bet the next Cobra is gonna weigh in at 3700+ pounds easy. Should still go like stink though and if its s/c'd then a few mods and the acceleration of the Cobra should be with in a hair or better than th Z06 I would think.
