It looks like this SUV is a identical copy of Toyota Hilux Surf.
That should tell you which country it came from.
This SUV is the first vehicle from this country that was exported to Western Europe in bigger numbers.
There is also a limo version; first one was sold to Fidel Castro.

Another clue: This SUV is powered by 2.4L Mitsubishi petrol engine + diesel engine by this manufacturer.

It does look stylish for a Chinese car. I guess it is always easier to copy someone else's designs and use existing platforms and engines that come up with something original.
