Well in an attempt to get things back to how they were lets get this thread going seeing how it was so much fun. Or well at least I thought it was. :nice:



So here is the last one I put up, I was gone for the weekend so I'm not sure if anyone got it or not so we'll have at it again.

I got lucky finding this one. I thought Jaguar, but the wheels are wrong.

It is a useless talent that takes up brain cells.

This is what I recall of the rules to help get us back on track.

1. Do not just post a random guess. Take some time, think about it, find it on the net, etc.

2. Post the make, model and year

3. Do not post a car until you have been told you are right by the poster before you.

4. Only post cars that have been in actual production

5. Do not post any pre-50s, concept cars or one off show cars.

Other can correct the original rules as I am sure these are not exact.

Jensen Interceptor.

Not sure of the model year, though I'd guess late 80's, even with the smaller, non-DOT bumpers (some limited production makes got exemptions from them).

Interesting British car that came with a Chrysler 440 (originally 383?) and, I think, had a fiberglass body. It did have the dreaded hatchback, so obviously its really just some Ricer (to those who reflexively equate hatchbacks with cheap foreign econo boxes). To counter, it did have a hand made Connolly leather interior.

1975 model. British car designed by an Italian design firm using Chrysler power and tranny. They were actually made of steel, the prior models in the 50s were fiberglass.

Lancia Scorpion... maybe a 74?

1976, I believe.

1976. An interesting little Italian mid-engined car, kind of a grown-ups Fiat X-1/9 called the X-1/20, but then got passed on to Lancia.

Handsome Pinninfarina styling with a cloth Targa top. Only had a 1.8 liter motor that made more noise than power, a mere 81 hp or so which, obviously, made it rather deliberate in terms of acceleration. On the other hand, it did look and handle great, though the brake balance sucked.

The European version, called the Monte Carlo, did have a bit more power (120hp or so) which made it spritely if not quite fast.

If they'd only put in the Stratos 2.5 V6 and fixed up the brakes and handling a bit, they could have had a Porsche 911 killer ... on, and a lot more rust protection.

Facel Vega from the early to mid sixties?

Winner! 1962-1964 Facel Vega (Facel II). French car with Chrysler 383 V8. The earlier 1957-1961 models weren't as streamlined, but had a cool, subtle hood scoop. Company went bankrupt in 1964.

That would be a Qvale Mangusta, a car originally intended to be the modern day predecessor of the De Tomaso Mangusta but, as seems to have been commonplace, one more deal Alejandro De Tomaso was involved in went south and, while the car lived, the De Tomaso name didn't make the cut.

Correct. I thought that one might be tougher. Sold in the US in 1999-2001 Trivia: it was powered by an 4v SVT 4.6 motor like the Cobra Mustang. It even raced as a Trans Am car.
