More Camaro talk from GM

Where'd that come from? Almost looks feasible, but that'd be a loser.
(yes I see the GMinsidenews mark on it :P I meant, where'd the chop come from ... based on anything, or just a fan's dream?)

I am betting GM is testing the waters with a Camaro concept to see if there is any true demand for such a car for them.
The problem is, if they want the car done right on a chassis that hasn't been designed yet, it will take a good 4 years for it to make production, and that is if everything goes smoothly. Do do it in less time can cause potiential problems (Look at all the issues with the solstice, not to mention the small trunk design).
The Mustang will have an advantage because it will have racked up huge sales in the meantime and will probably be due for a reskin/mid cycle enhancement when/if the next Camaro shows up.
I personally think if the Camaro will be successful, they shouldn't go for all out horsepower but build a balanced machine, just like the Mustang is now. 300hp is MORE than enough for the majority of sporty car buyers.

That new small Caddy - sold only in Europe - would sell here - and would creat some brand loyality. GM is still in trouble. GM has got to do even more consolidation of brands. The European Focus would sell here - why companies think Americans are stupid when it comes to cars blows me away.
Let's se what happens when Ford put three versions of the same car in showrooms in September/October: (Fusion, Milan, Zepher (sp?).
