They should have dropped the Buick line and kept Olds.

My 89 Cutlass is still going strong.

I find it sad the Olds is gone.

However, I understand. Just makes me wonder if Mercury dosn't turn things around they may share the same fate. At least Ford is trying to show a commitment . . . though the direction is still up in the air.

Mercury will be fine. GM just should have known it couldn't keep two near-luxury brands forever.

When they decided to kill off Olds. To Me Olds was just starting to get it's legs again with the Alero for the youngsters and the Aurora for the older people. Much better looking than Buicks, but what can you do. Oh yeah, I do agree Buick should have been killed off not Olds.

I just can't kill it Dave. It just doesn't want to die. The Cutlass Supremes hold up well.

My mom had a 68 Cutlass Supreme. Sky Blue. Beautiful car. It's a shame there's no market for new Oldsmobiles..

Being in Lansing, MI., our city was pretty much built around Oldsmobile.
Though GM has built a couple new plants here recently, it's still a tuff loss.
