First brake weight falls off new camaro?

saw a brand new one that just came in to the local dealership... it was sold... with brake weights still attached

With any object there is something called a harmonic frequency, or in layman's terms it is a frequency where it shakes more violently than above or below said frequency. My guess is that the brakes on the production version got a slightly different (read:cheaper) casting, and that caused the brakes to "moan." Placing the weights on the caliper changes the harmonic frequency, therefore "fixing" the problem.

They have since fixed the problem, and the new SSs do not have the weights. I believe that the owners who have an SS with the BROKEN calipers should demand to get the fixed calipers under warranty. Unfortunately GM has officially said that there isn't a problem with the calipers since they "fixed it."

CamaroGuy: GM is not stupid enough to put something that is going to fall off on the brake caliper.
CamaroGuy2: They don't bother me at all, great job with the car GM!!
