For the automotive industry I can see it as a good Idea. However for everything else (price jump of everything related to corn) I see it as bad. However I have been against the use of food for fuel from the jump so I am just biased against the idea from that standpoint alone.

It's also being converted into the wrong fuel. Ethanol's energy density is too low, Butanol is much closer to on par with Gas, has a more favorable air-fuel mix than Ethanol, and being less corrosive than Ethanol can be used in modern cars with little to no modification. Its not as easy to make (yet), but with the right research we'll have a REAL bridge to Hydrogen.

Corn-based ethanol is the stupidest bit of brainwashing nonsense I have ever seen.

Food-for-fuel is the last signpost of a decaying civilization for which its hubris outweighs its humanity.
