i think if you see it on the street its a real cop car...if you just see it behind a roped off area or in grass with people standing around it, its a pomotional stunt....cops have lots of fancy cars but very few of them are actually in use beyond the parade

 

You still see some Mustangs used for traffic enforcement but the Charger has displaced quite a few of them because of their ability to carry and transport prisoners. Nobody wants an arrestee riding shotgun with them.
