it's a big piece of crap, if you ask me.
GM should put their money in places that will actually get them some money. this isnt one of them.

If GM was going to bring back a retro looking Wagon, it should have been the Nomad. I really liked the car! If they had made it, I would have probably considered it since I'm becoming a teacher in a year.

A friend of mine just got a new Chevrolet. He let me drive it, and now I really know what the bowtie is for. It's too keep all of the crap from falling apart! maybe that thing needs a bigger bowtie!

eh, the HHR isn't that bad for what its supposed to be (a PT Cruiser knock-off - actually I think its much better looking that the PT - but that ain't saying much), if GM had just brought it out after only a few years of the PT cruiser it may have been a hit just like the PT Cruiser
And I definitely agree with Lalo, that Nomad was hot. '53 Corvette styling with the room and practicality of most crossovers people like today. If GM was smart (they're not) they would consider it, after all look at the Dodge Magnum. They're both nothing more than good looking station wagons.
On a did you know note, did anyone know that in '1953-'55 when the corvette still had its original styling GM actually made a prototype station wagon based on the Corvette that looked very, very similar to the Nomad concept above (its concept name may have also been Nomad).

John,
you are right... the original nomad concept was based on the 53-55 vette's
I really don't think the HHR will be a strong seller at all. It will not attract the hype the PT Cruiser did, that's for sure.
Despite GM touting how it is different from the PT, you can't deny the blatant copying of the body. I am surprised that GM hasn't been sued by DC, I personally would have my lawyers after them.

I did not know that! About the Vette Wagon concept being the Nomad. Very interesting stuff.
Now that I'm thinking about it, That Nomad concept would be awesome with an LS2 engine :P

If GM had any courage at all and would produce it, I think it could be a hit, assuming that they made it rear wheel/4 wheel drive with similar performance capabilities as the Dodge Magnum. Biggest problem would be finding a suitable platform since they'll likely have to/want to make it a 4 door. Don't think a 2 door station wagon would sell as well as a 4 door.
