2013 Chevy Impala Spy Shots
That sound you are hearing? That is the sound of Buick becoming completely irrelevant. Buick isn't allowed to make the Regal sporty enough to potentially endanger entry level CTS sales, or to equip the LaCrosse in such a way as to potentially endanger the upcoming Cadillac XTS, but Chevrolet can produce an Impala that is more or less a LaCrosse without the sweap-spear styling wearing a Bowtie badge and a significant discount?
If GM isn't leaving any 'exclusive' room for Buick product between Chevrolet and Cadillac, and they aren't, then I don't understand how they expect Buick to be viewed as anything more than a Chevy in a tux. And, wasn't they supposed to be leaving that strategy behind? So much for brand differentiation.

It's Epsilon II if I'm not mistaken, just like LaCrosse. Apparently Impala may actually be on a longer wheelbase version of the same than LaCrosse, but some have hinted that wheelbase will be the same. Ironically enough, a longer wheelbase Impala probably only serves to make the situation even worse for Buick.
The Buick is apparently going to get a new interior with better materials usage and a few features that the Chevy doesn't offer. But then, that would seem to serve to make an already pricey LaCrosse even more pricey, and would likewise seem to threaten entry level versions of the XTS if interior quality goes up significantly.
