Good riddens... It should have died many many years ago before GM took it over... I do not blame GM one bit for protecting it's intellectual property.

Before GM took over Saab was making money and they were making some really unique cars. It was GM's idea to use cheaper Opel's platforms for more expensive Saab cars. That's pretty much when things started going bad.
It is ironic that the bailed out government motors puts the kibash on another automaker needing a bailout. Selfish little beatch.

Saabs are very unique and they're not for everybody. They're like Swedish Alfa Romeo - you have to drive and own them before realizing what makes them so special.
I personally think this is a beautiful car. My buddy in Serbia has one (although it's not a turbo).

I have nothing against SAABs. Anybody that makes a jet fighter is cool in my book.
The problem was they allowed themselves to be bought or sold to the soulless General Motors.
It was a Swedish car that should have remained a Swedish Company. These things just don't work out well. Look at Ford and Jaguar. What makes a Jaguar a Jaguar has nothing to do with the blue oval and never will. It robs it off it's soul. Ya I know a Jaguar is a TaTa now.

I know someone that owns a SAAB and they look BMWish to me. The big problem is if something breaks like a window you wait 2 months for a part. Rear seal goes out easy 2k when the part is 35 bucks.
Always dug the Sonetts, which btw used a Ford V4 and the descendant of that V4 was the previous V6 in the S-197 Mustang so I guess on some level that makes Ford and Saab distant relatives.
