Challenger?

They only sold ~20,000 of them so far this year which is really really low number. Except for Viper, I'm pretty sure it is the worst seller at Chrysler.

Relative to their capacity at the Brampton plant, it is not a low number. All accounts are that Chrysler's sales projections are being met. They do not have the capacity to build the Challenger in large quantity like the Mustang.

Quick aside, I drove an RT 6-speed last week. Actually a very nice car. Not perfect, and I have no plans on parting with my beloved 06 GT, but if I were, an RT might be my choice.

It's not like people would buy that many Challengers.

And your point is? The business case for the Challenger was never to rival the Mustang in terms of production. Chrysler identified a sales goal to make the car profitable within their limited capacity to build it, and they have met those goals.

Mission accopmplished.

My point is that Challenger is a slow seller and it should not be on that list.

Chrysler's sales are down; they have plenty of factories to move production in if demand was high enough - but it's not.

Back in 2007 this plant lost 1,000 workers and built 270,000+ cars. The year before that they built 314,000+ vehicles. Meaning they can build more vehicles if there is demand for it.

The only problem is that there is no demand.

Their sales are down and yet the Challenger is meeting sales projections. Therefore it has relevance being on the list. As far as being a "slow seller", I question the validity of that position considering it was never intended to be a high volume car and is meeting projections.

Evidently demand is fine relaive to projections.

Then every Volkswagen should be on the list.

Everybodys sales and income are down; yet, VW's sales are up and they're making profit.

A little hyperbolic. A reference to a car meeting sales projections in contrast to double digit declines in sales again seems very relevant.

The only one that really surprises me is the G8. Given the price on it I didn't think it was selling that well. Great car no doubt but a little pricy in this market I would think. Maybe the folks are trying to get them while they can (like a co-worker who just bought a Red Jewel Tintcoat G8 GT )now that Pontiac is getting the arrow to the forehead .

The Challenger is really growing on me. I saw 2 of them very recently. A dark blue one with chrome rims and tonight, a white RT. It is a nice piece to me, and I'd take it over the cartoon..I mean Camaro.
