Hey all,
My garage is filled with junk, and even if I did clear it out I don't think the mustang will fit. So I'm looking for good place to store my car over the winter.
Anyone know of a storage facility that's not too expensive. And I don't think a Barn up north is a good idea
I was planning to just store it in the driveway with the car cover on it. But now that I think about it, that's probably a REALLY bad idea, as the snow will melt and moisture will just rot the car out anyway...
Thanks,

I was also going to cover "Sally" and keep in the driveway but decided to look for storage instead. I found an apartment building with underground parking on the street next to me. They charge $60/month so I signed for 6 months. It is not a heated garage but a nice safe spot to park her. (I can also visit whenever I want to).

Talk to the guys who have classic cars
I have heard of a few places where you can store you car in a barn.
Storage units like Self Storage are expensive, you'll be paying well over $130 a month.

I have a question - what do you guys do in terms of jacking the car up for winter storage?
i heard it's better to get the tires up, to prevent flat spots. but then i've also heard it's not good to leave the suspension "unspring" for too long either...
?

I'm not sure to be honest I've read multiple things, but one thing that seems to come up, today's tires do not leave flat spots like the 60's and 70's.

hmmmm interesting. it's just that the place where I'm storing the car for the winter has a lift, so I figured that I might as well lift it up a little.

I leave my classics on their tires.
As Ben mentioned, radials don't develop flat spots unless they are left for a few years, then drying out and cracking is more the issue.

Thanks all, I tracked down a place that's a companies warehouse, so it's heated. $100/Month. Not bad so I signed up.

Some of the GHMA members are also storing their classics there. It is a secure as you are going to get, dry and temperature controlled.
If anyone else is interested, send me a PM.
