Looks like I will stay in VA. B)

I just got a great job that starts Tuesday!

Now I must decide to:
1. Buy a house down in Fredericksburg or Stafford County
or
2. Buy an 05 Convertible, once I teach my fiance how to drive a stick.

I will rent a car that is a stick to teach her on, of course. :bang:

Congrats on the new job

After you move to the Fredericksburg area you might want to consider joining up with CVMC. If I'm not mistaken I believe we have 1 or 2 members in the Fredericksburg area.

But anyway congrats on the new job and good luck teaching the wife how to drive a stick

Thanks 95svtcobrava.

She is not my wife yet.

She has to drive a stick first!

Does anyone know the name of a really good body/custom shop in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area? I'm going to try to get my car repainted, carpet replaced, and seat reupholstered. The carpet and seats I'll do as soon as I get there in December but the paint will need to wait until spring.

Looks like the 24th Mid Atlantic Car show is on the 7th in Chesapeake. I'll be at the Fun Ford Weekend in Bristol on that day. Bummer. 95SVTCobraVA, do you know why there are two clubs in VA Beach? Decisions Decisions.

Sorry John, I don't know why.

But, I do know ther are 4 Mustang Clubs in Tidewater.

Shoot for that matter there are 3 in the Richmond Area. I would explain but that would take a while.

Wow, 4? I'll need to wait until I get there I guess. I'm glad I'm going to the Fun Ford Weekend in Bristol on the 7th but it looks like the show in VA on the 7th is pretty sweet. Sorry I'm going to miss it. I'm sure you're going.

We have a local show that we will be going to on August 7th. FFW is fun to go to. I hear that FFW in Bristol is much larger than the one south of Petersburg. Have fun at FFW

i didnt realize there were so many people in here in richmond. Some time in the next couplke of months i might get my first car, probably a '90 mustang, V-6, w/ 80,000 miles. Its for sale for 1,000, does this sound like a good buy?

And if i do get it what would be the best mustang club to join? The CVMC?

95SVTcobrava, if you could email me info on the club, or give me a website to go that'd be great.

Kevinspann.

14 yo car with 80,00 miles.

Probably needs the timing checked. And a complete tune up. :nono:
Was it ever in an accident?

How much rust is there?

1000 dollars may be too much if it will penny you to death. :bang:

On the plus side. Fixing it up will be less than a car payment. A six year project of restoration gets you an antique plate when the car hits twenty years old.

Cool

I was wrong about 1 thing,- it has a 2.3L 4-cyl

Anyway:

The timing may need to be checked, not sure about that. I went for a ride in the car it runs fine, and started right up, with no leaks of any kind.
It was in a minor accident, where the front bumper, and a couple of headlight lenses needed to be replaced, the fenders werent damages at all so it wasnt that serious- i can tell b/c the bumper cover is a brighter, newer white than the rest of the car.

Absolutely no rust.

All it really needs is to be cleaned up, inside and out, and some other really, really minor things.

I would want to know how reliable the 4 cyl motor is.

IMO, I would not buy a 4 cyl Mustang. They do not make anymore either.

Get a Mini Cooper if you want a 4 cyl.

On the plus side, if you do get the car it should get better mpg.

You can also put one of those bra things on the front and no one will know that the front bumper is a darker shade of white!

Kevin,

You might be better off with a 4 banger. Something you can tinker with while you learn to drive and besides you can always trade up as time goes on.

If the engine is still strong, no bad noises coming from under the hood while being driven hard and no leaks I say go for it!!!
