Well, I guess the most famous place near me is a city called Galax. I live about 25 minutes from there.

I work for a Land Surveyor in the Richmond area. There is plenty of construction work down here but, be warned they do not pay what they do in your neck of the woods.

But, then again most stuff here doesn't cost as mush as it does up there

I may make a career change. Standard of living and quality of life are becoming factors in my life. And the search for the open road....

Richmond Metro Area's unemployment I think is pretty close to what Alanta has.

I'm going to be moving to Norfolk in December. I'm in Iceland right now and will be flying to Idaho to pick up my car and drive it back to Norfolk. I'm in the Navy and will be stationed on the USS Enterprise. If anyone knows how bad traffic is in that area or where a good place to live is, I would appreciate it. I was looking at the Virginia Beach area.

welcome to virginia! i'm up in springfield, about 15 min from DC. anyway, i have a little idea as to how traffic is in norfolk, its one of the worst in the country, with springfield being almost as bad. we're working on some new overpasses to straighten things up here. but VA is fun, cost of living is high, but its really a fun state. especially near the beach.

95svt cobra is part of the central VA mustang club, so if you want, you could join up their group. I'd be part of the Northern VA mustang club.

I'll be in Virginia in December. I'll be looking to join a club, just not sure if I'll still have my 97 GT or a 03/04 Mach 1. We'll see. Military life is fine, I've been doing it for 16 years. As a junior officer coming in fresh, listen to your senior enlisted workers (the good ones anyway) and you'll be just fine until you get trained up in all the parts of the job. Don't be like some new officers and try to change things around withouth knowing how the shop works. Show them you appreciate THEM when they make you look good and you'll have some loyal folks.

Hey mustangfun101, Welcome to VA (when you get here) I know you will not be here until December. But, I hope you don't mind toastee weather as it gets rather hot here during the summer.

CVMC would be glad to have you as a member. But, I think you ought to check out some of the local Mustang Clubs in the Tidewater Area.

Mustang Club of Tidewater

Thanks for the info. I'll definetly be looking around when I get there for other Mustang drivers. As for the heat, I'm from Redding California and in the summer months it averages in the 100+ range. Usually the 110-115 a few weeks of summer. You see why I'm in Iceland now?? Trust me, I'll be looking forward to heat after here.
