Hey all!
Been quite in here of late. Have to say I've not helped by posting here much either.
Noticed blue cars came up & reminded me I needed to post a pic of our new blue DD. We got it about 3 weeks ago. DIB Fusion SE, no turbo & no Touch.
Just simple everyday transportation. We gave our red Neon to daughter #3.
Still have the Boss

Hope you all are doing well. Been busier than I want this year, hoping it slows down over winter, but not counting on it. We are adding 2 more helis starting Dec., will bring my total up to 11. Still happy our company is doing well & I'm staying employed.

Nice car Larry. I tryed to trade my 13 focus in on a 14 Escape and they offer me $4000 less than my paid off. This is with a $1500 rebate, $1000 down, and buying on the x-plan with a extra set of winter rims and tires on the Focus. I told him that Focuses must really be a turd of a car if thats all the can offer me. From 27,000 (MSRP) to 17,000 (Dealer offer) in 1 year I guess I'l be looking for a better value car company. He thought he presented me with a great deal. I'll drive the Focus till 1 month from the warrinty going out then dump it.

Did everything but wreck my truck on the way to work today. Black ice on an overpass. Went from 1 side of the road to the other, luckly I miss the concrete barriers and no other cars were going or coming.

Glad you didn't bust up your truck today. Bet the "PUCKER FACTOR" was high. What is wrong with you Focus actually. Not a moments trouble with ours in 1 1/2 years. Love it. Best selling car in the world for the past 2 years I think. Maybe you can get rid of it under the lemon law if they have that in your state. Mine has never been back to the dealer yet. Knock on wood. I think the curse of the dreaded "Blue car" is hovering over your head.

counting myself lucky from this morning, co worker was involved in one of the by pass accidents.

Scottie just today when I parked my blue Turd, in park standing still as I hit the off button it cranked and jumped about a foot forward but don't worry about it Ford says that's normal. Its the new 2013 automatic transmission. Look it up on the net its all over about it.

So you think the auto transmission in the 13 is different then in my 12? That seems hard to believe. I think you may have a dealer issue. Here is a post out of the same blog you posted that say the transmission is very smooth in their 13 Focus.

I have 650 miles on mine. My wife loves it, and she is a brand-conscious car snob, so that says a lot. Excellent car, I would echo Motor Trend and Edmunds in saying it is an extraordinary bargain. I don't know how Toyota sells a single Corolla when, for the same money, you can get a Focus that is much faster, gets much better MPG, and has in-dash navigation, a rear-view camera, heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and neat little features like turn signals embedded in the side-view mirrors, none of which are available on any Corolla at any trim level. Mine is very quiet in the cabin, with wind and road noise managed surprisingly well for a car this affordable. I test drove a Honda Civic and a Chevy Cruze, both of which seemed to have plenty of power for the job, but my Focus would dance circles around either, and the transmission is very smooth. Shifts where you expect it would, without a lot of fanfare. I have just three recommended improvements I would commend to Ford: 1) for about the same money, Ford could make a different version of the Continental tire standard equipment. They should go with the Extreme Contact DWS, which Tire Rack reckons is a 25% better tire than the OEM Continental ContiPro Contact. 2) I wish my gas tank was one gallon larger. Some extra range would be really nice. 3) I wish it came in brown or sand/tan. That Mocha color that is available for the 2013 Honda Civic is very attractive, and the Chevy Cruze comes in a color I think they call Gold Mist that looks super. No reason Ford couldn't provide similar offerings.

My auto transmission has d (drive) and s (sport). Also has 2 buttons on the side of the shifter that when I place it in s, I can shift up or down like a paddle shifter, If you have the same setup then I guess they are the same. 6 forward gears.

Same as mine. I think I remember you saying you were going to try a different dealer a while back. What your car is doing is clearly not normal. Grinding and lurching aren't normal unless you are driving the Miley Cyrus edition Focus.

Will an 07 one work?

Only thing is I've got to find it. Do you need the inlet and the box?

Hey Ron,
Welcome to the Midwest forum. Don't tell Darrell his car looks good. He can't fit his head in the room as it is. Got any pictures of your Roush?
