Absolutely those are the ABS rings and the teeth are what the sensors trigger off of. If an idiot where to knock a few of those teeth off that idiot may not have an ABS braking system on the wheel the idiot knock those teeth from. That idiot might find one side of the car doing something different then the side the idiot knock the teeth off of. I would suggest the idiot that knock the teeth off of the exciter ring take his car out on a wet road where there isn't and trees or power poles that the idiot might run into when the said idiot tries out his new idiotic braking system. Of course this is just the opinion of another idiot!!

Good thing that idiot doesn't drive in the rain and always with the Traction control off.

Hey Scottie.... am I biting off more than I can chew. I'm going to try to install a new abs ring on the back axle. Everybody says you need a press. At work when we replace bearing on a shaft we ice the shaft down and heat up the bearing. It goes on pretty good with minimum problems. I figure I would lay the shaft hub in a bag of ice (or dry ice) and heat up the ring with a torch. Shop only wants $150 for labor and I supply the parts and fluid but they don't know I have a Fays2 watt linkage right in front of the diff housing.
My son in law works at the shop and I don't want to screw him up. ABS light came on right away on the test drive also the light that looks like a car sliding came on. The means that the Traction Control is on but the button light for the Traction Control says its off????? Ordered the ring already from Varsity ford and can get the fluids local. I'm running out of vacation time this month so I don't know when I can get to it. Starting 12 hr shifts in August but I do have off 13 days around Labor day. Book says its a 4 hr job so I figure that's 4 days for me.

I have never done it but I believe the ABS ring is a casting and can break very easily. If it were me I'd spend the $150.
