I refused on more than one occasion in the past 3 months and it finally came to a head. Quit without a job in today's enviroment? Yeap ...and it felt good. Thank the lord the wifey has a good job. Started a new job last week for a German metal stamper in the Dayton area as toolroom manager. They have a plant in Germany, France, China and Dayton. Looks like I may be going to Germany for sure early next year and maybe China in March. Not really thrilled about that trip. I just need about 4 more years to get me too retirement. Than I'm applying for a Walmart greeter job.
Congrats Scott. Good for you.. I have to appreciate and commend your integrity!

My dad had to travel all around the world for his job.. He wasn't a big fan of it but it sure was interesting hearing him talk about all those places.. He worked for Bosch, so Germany obviously was one of his destinations, as well as Switzerland (I think), India, and China. He got TONS of frequent flyer miles.. That I have sitting here for me to use now.. haha. I think I've got like 3 or 4 free roundtrip flights-worth of miles waiting to be used.

In my news.. I've lost almost 20 lbs in about 6 weeks.. Started dieting and working with a trainer at the Memorial Health and Lifestyle Center here in downtown South Bend.

Nice Nick! I lost a lot of weight over the summer too. I feels really awesome when clothes start to fit again...even better when you have to get new ones because all of your other stuff is too big. Keep at it man!

It is very inronic that I sign on tonight and see Nick's and Cody's great news of their weight loss. The reason I find it so funny is I just came home and told the wife to make a light supper as I feel fat and we need to address it. I commend you guys and keep up the good work!!!

Hey nick

I found 14lbs of that weight this summer. My Doctors want me to lose some weight, I rather lose the Doctors.

Anybody watch the show "The Amazing Race". Its sponser by Ford and last sunday part of the show had them going to a Ford Proving grounds in Beligum. They got to play with some new Mustangs as a Challenge. Then the 2 winners of that segiment won Mustangs custimized anyway they want from Ford

I watched "TAR" too. Nice commercial for the Mustang. Those guys winning the stangs is the best segment winning award ever given. Very cool.

Call me missy, but I have to shed a few pounds too. Congrats to those who have. It isnt easy as you get older.

Scott, you can do it!! Its not THAT hard. All you have to do is make a calorie limit, (mine was 1500 a day) and keep track of everything you eat... with a tiny bit of obsessiveness. You'll lose like 4-5 lbs the first week, and that gives you a lot of motivation to keep going. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months... from 193-163. (I'm 5'6)

Just gotta stay committed! I decided since I'm 25, I was not going to go through the rest of my 20s not being in the best shape of my life, and it worked out! Go for it!!

Cody,
Trust me YOUNG man it is like ten times easier to lose some weight at your age. I remember how it was back then. Your metabolism is about 300% better then a man of mine and Darrell's age. My new job may really be of a benefit. It is really cutting into my daily beer drinking. I used to get home at 3:30 everyday. Now it is 5:45. So I figure it has probably cut about 1000 calories a day. Just need to give it a little time to see if it pays off.

Sitting at home about an hour after work and we hear a Fire Truck go by. We figure that somebody was in need of Medical attention, so we look out the door and the neighbor several doors down has fire coming out of the garage like in my old days (I was a Firefighter for the city about 20 years ago). Ran down the street and helped the driver make his Hydrant and than sat back and watched. Saw several of my old FF'er friends and alot of new guys. I feel sorry for the lady whoes house was messed up pretty bad. I havn't smelled that smell in along time.

At least more believeable........

Also you may remember that several months ago my HID guy 6K headlights that I have had for 5+ years burnt out. So they sent me a set under warranty (at a cost of $70...) about a month ago. So I finally put them on last weekend. They worked and I parked the car. Today was the first day I drove the car after dark. On low beams the lights or bulbs flutter constantly. Drives me and I am sure the on coming traffic nuts. When I put them on high beam the issued goes away. Go back to low beam and the flutter starts again. Just sent an email to the HID Guy to see WTF is going on and what are they going to do about it.

It really helps if you can get in a 30 minute walk every day. I use to mow my lawn for 30 minutes a day. just a different section every day. Push mower of course. I lost about 35 lbs doing that. I slacked off a bit but still need to lose another 10 lbs. Some day.
