Thanks for the info guys. Darrell, after watching your videos I may opt to buy a 2nd turkey and a few boxes of baking soda just in case.

The best advice is to put the turkey in the pot and pour water into the pot to the point you want the top of the oil to be. take the turkey out and pour any water inside the turkey back into the pot. Mark the level of the water on the side of the pot and dump the water out and clean the pot of moisture. The marked line will let you know how much oil you need to not overflow the pot. Also never let the oil get hot enough to smoke or auto ingnite (sic). Look at your oil and see what temp it likes to be at to cook the best. Buy a good tempure gauge and find the correct heat range on your gas burner to keep the heat at the right temp.

Keep a ABC Fire extinguisher handy and if it does light up turn off the gas 1st and don't spray into the oil .

If you've ever burnt down your neighbors trailer home, and lost the ability to grow eyebrows after frying a turkey...you might be a redneck.

Yep - for the cost of the car, plus the "kit", you could buy a real one...

Well, I just ate a whole bowl of Brussels Sprouts.

Cruciferous vegetables do wonderful things to you...

Gonna be some thunder down under tonight.
