Okay...everything you wanted to know about HID head lights and fog lights but was afraid to ask. A few weeks ago I bought the H13 6000 K headlite kit and they would not fire up after install. So I bought them from Ed but he is just a salesman and needed to talk to Oscar (The HID GUY). He told me to unhook the battery and reset the computer and SJB. Well he was correct and everything has been great the last 2 weeks. So I pulled the trigger on the H10 HID foglight kit and installed them tonight. And guess what. The F'ers didn't work. 3 figgin wires and they didn't work. So I unhooked the HID's and plugged in the stock fog light blulbs and the **** things worked!! WTF? So I decided to bypass Ed (the saleman) and called Oscar (the HID guy). So Oscar is great. He tells me that HID lights will not work if the polarity is not correct. He suggested that I turn the stock fog light plugs 180 degrees and see if that works. He said that stock halogen bulbs will work even if the polarity is wrong but not the HID's and Ford is terrible about getting the wiring correct. Well...Oscar is correct again. I reversed the stock plugs and now they work just fine. This modding **** is getting to hard anymore.

 

Wow - sounds like you got an ed-u-ma-cation... Now you are the HID guru. Stupid question, what are the advantages of the HIDs?

They put out 3 X's the lumens (light) as the standard hologen bulbs. And they project they light farther down the road like about twice and far. And the 6000 Kevin bulbs that are basically daylight in color make the street signs and white stripes on the road glow in the dark. For us old ***'s that drive our car's as DDer's all year they are a big plus. Both the headlight and foglights cost less then $300 shipped and at this point I am ready to say they are one of the best mods I have done to date. They really are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I had that happen to me, but I just reversed them to try and yep, they fired up.

 

You and I are both running a centered foglight grille that have wire extensions to reach the new fog light position. I wonder it that is where the issue is at and not the original ford wiring?

 

Maybe, but I took my extensions out when I installed the kit, because I mounted the ballast pretty close to the fogs. I think it's because there is no one-way connector on the plugs, atleast not on mine, so you can plug them in either way but only one way works.

 

I stuck the ballast under the Roush front fascia. Easy to get to. But it would have been pretty tight to use the stock plug in's. I know there is a positive clip that engages the stock plug but you can turn it 180 degrees and it still works fine. I just put electrical tape around the plug in so it can't come apart.
