I just had an idea all graded bolts have a mark on the head of the bolt to identify the grade of the bolt. I'm just gonna check this out. I'll let you know what I find.
#1902
The bolts are marked 10.9 which according to this chart are grade 8 no torque to yield. With a psi strength of around 128,000psi

Your probably right, I too sent an email to Steeda...lets see what they say,
Are the bolts marked on top, the bolts on the suspension pieces ?

Yes the bolts on the suspension pieces. I'm going to go ahead with the install and If Steeda repiles that you do need new bolts then I will replace them later.
Paul, I will have your measurements. I assume you are wanting to try to build your own LCA's? I dont have a dial caliper to measure the ID and OD to within the specs you will need but I will try to get as close as I can for you.

don't forget to check your pinion angle when you are done.
#1906
Well to do this you need a angle guage which I don't have. But the LCA's that I am using are a stock replacement in length and do not change the current angle of the rear end and subsequent pinion or driveshaft angle. These are not like the old style lakewood or similar which changed the instant center of the rear of the car. The s197 rear is different in many ways in respect to the lower control arms or newly termed "trailing arms" as the rear spring no longer rides in a perch on top of them.
The install went smooth took about 30-45 minutes by myself, no hassle very straight forward. You guys will have to inspect the flimsy stock units. No wonder you get such bad wheel hop. Now I can feel confident that I can put the power to the ground with new tires.
Drag tires and wheels here I come.......

Glad to hear the install went smooth. Have you tried them out to see if they make a difference yet?
So what you are saying is that they are not adjustable right?

Paul,
Here are the specs of the trailing arms. Crude drawing in paint it's been a while since I did any drafting work so If you need more details let me know. Again I didn't have a dial caliper for perfect measurements but I think it's pretty close.

We need to schedule a brainstorm final prep meeting before the drive if it's still on for the 14th.
#1917
sweeet i'm coming to the dyno for sure.. does he tune our cars also?
#1918
As to BHF, Randy said last week he was getting on it today. He is going to a different vendor for the tshirts. I will give him a jingle tomorrow to see what is going on. The drive is still set for the 14th according to Randy.
#1919
Going to a different vendor or finally going to a vendor. I hate to say it but I think randy is full of Sh%#. Just MHO.

We'll see. We should build this club as if they don't exist that way we don't count on them too much. If they come through on some stuff, so be it and mores the merrier. If not, then we keep on trucking and build it our way.
Is anyone going to BYB tomorrow?
