Well they were fresh out of the Vista Blue high heat paint. I did however find some high heat that looks pretty close to the Tungsten Gray and I figure since I am planning on the gray stripes in the future I will go with that. Besides if I decide that I dont like it I can always re-do it.

I still can't decide on some sort of decal/emblem. I don't think the cam covers get all that hot. At least not so hot as to degrade to failure a emblem if the adhesive was good quality.

So I officially don't like K&M Muffler now. They installed the h-pipe correctly but the right side exhaust pipe going to the rear slipped and my muffler is vibrating against the body (like the left one we fixed Paul). Anyway, I called them and they said no prob to fix, bring it over. I got over there and they are "too busy" to do it, bring it back tomorrow at 1030. No prob, I bring it back the next day at 1030. Too busy bring it back in an hour. No prob, I'm a patient guy. I come back in an hour and he is too busy working on his own darn car to get to mine. The guy has NOOO sense of customer service. I wouldn't have minded except he has 2 other lifts he could have put my car on. Like Bob said "To hell with them."

Jeff. That sucks and is unacceptable! Like I said before, I had them do work on the Lightning twice... The bracket broken twice... I ended up fixing it myself. His welds are pretty crappy too.

We can do a paint tech day at my place. Next weekend I have to dive one. Not sure if it's Sat or Sun yet.

Well I have to say that's crazy about K&M! I can't stand bad customer service! Like Paul said you might have better luck fixing it yourself and just forgo the aggrivation.

I wish I had read the thread before I started on the cam covers. I didn't know you guys wanted to do a tech day. Not that I would have been able to come due to work but oh well. I guess you'll have to see how mine turned out. There drying now! I figure to put them back on in the morning. They look sweeeeeeeeet!!!!!!! Much better than that crappy unfinished stamped aluminum from the factory. I cant figure out why they dont spend a little more effort here from the factory. I am also a bit perplexed as to why Ford hasn't gone to a composite cam cover like the intake. Save weight looks good no fuss. Oh well.

I'm back, car ran like a champ..even had a kill

Got on the on ramp and saw a 2005+ GT get on right after me, got on it to see what he would do, he was lowered, exhaust package and more...he comes up to my side goosing it and then we get side by side at 35mph and boom...I was at least 6 car lengths ahead when I saw him slow down and changed into the right lane where he stayed until he exited.

David get some pictures of the cam covers.......now !!

Gears were great, better than what I thought - revs higher, more gas used, but not dramatically, but when you hit the throttle it went....

pypes were ok...just humming along sound was ok until you hit it then semis moved over

Big difference from just a smooth highway cruiser to a hot stang
