Ok just caught up with the thread.

Congrats on the Cobra status Jeff.

Paul I think you have elephantitus of the testes, or you have been getting ideas from the movie Dodge Ball. Not sure which?

Jarrod you have succeeded in discusting me with your description of your weight loss ideas.

So all that being said wooohoooo tomorrow is T&T.

Paul I wonder if they would let you sit in the tower due to your status?

Hey Paul can you send out an invite to all members for T&T?? Be sure to include that they can come and watch if they don't want to race.

Not on this car. But have done it to my other cars in the past.

Just unbolt the endlinks and the brackets that anchor to the body. It should be pretty simple

I'm off tomorrow afternoon so I will look at it if I do it it will be here in the garage. Not really hip on taking a jack and all that crap out to the track. Then having to put the bar somewhere while I run and all. Do you think you can swing getting sick at about 3-4:00 to get off early? If so then gimme a call and you can swing by the house and we'll take it off.

Does it hurt any thing to take the front swaybar off every time you race? Does it really save that much weight?

I heard it is a 1)heavy suspension part 2) less weight out front equals more front end lift Equals go faster

Well in the older cars, removing the front swaybar allowed the suspension to travel fully up in the front. But I have read that in these cars it does a good job of going full up even with the sway bar in. The main reason people remove the sway bar on the s197 is to also remove the radiator support also which removes over 40 lbs from the nose of the car. I am planning on doing the brace perhaps before Shelby.

So it looks like the factory shift **** thread is 12 X 1.75 metric, so I will have to retap or see the ball to determine if it has a replaceable insert in it like the old ones or whatever.
