I believe its 28 on the front sides and then 15 on everywhere else, may want to do a search on it or google it, I know there were some posts of websites that had all the state window tint laws.

And what factory are you talking about?

Check out the '2005 Mustang' forum - 'Exterior Mods' topic. There is lots of info there on tinting. Including this:

"Here's another chart dated Aug 2004 that goes a little more indepth.

California's has a star where it says that the medical exemption is only valid during daytime. Sure that makes a whole lot sense, let me take the tint off at night and then put it back on during the day.

Just got a ticket today for my window tint... I have a '91 GT and have had it tinted since I bought it in Florida.

I live in LA now and the cop said that it is illegal for ANY tint on the front side windows. You can have tint on the back and rear windows, but not on the front sides... I also went onto those sites with charts mentioned... then I went to the california state website and looked up the vehicle code law and basically from what I read people with doctor's notes can use those "sun visors" which are those ugly things that have the suction cups and sort of look like square pieces of screen. You can have THOSE on the car, but no tint.

This stinks a big one as far as I'm concerned. I'm planning to get an '05 or perhaps an '06 later in the year and wanted to tint the windows, but now I don't know.

Of course I've been driving around LA for five years now without a ticket and the tint on my windows is 80 percent (allows 20 percent sunlight) so it's VERY dark and I knew it was illegal in Florida, but in FL the fine is only $40 or so... her it's $150!! So I don't know what I'm going to do now.

Well I know I have to take the tint off my current stang anyway

I'm not sure about FL, but GA recently had to drop the window tinting law because of the # of tickets to out of state residents because their tint was illegal in GA but not in their home state. So as of this going into effect, my cousin has put Triple 0 on the back and sides of his 03 Tacoma. BTW, its very dark inside.
