Call it a Pinto...I'd buy a 300 HP Pinto if it looks that good! Mr. Shakespear said it best: "A rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet"...or something like that.

Just think, maybe we've all been driving Pintos, only Ford calls them Mustangs?
Me also!!!!!!!!!! [/b][/quote]
Just to stick up for the 350z.

The 350z is a very accomplished sports car in it's own right. It is a 13.9-14.2 car stock. But this car was not made for the strip. With perfect 50/50 Fr weight distro and aerodynamic styling(I believe drag is a mere .29) it is a car designed for the track. On a track a 350z can hang with e46 M3's , now unless we are saying the new mustang Is going to be an M3 killer, we should give the 350z It's due respect.

Also the 350z is in many peoples opinions one of the sexiest cars in recent years.
Styling is subjective. It doesn't matter if you think "many people" think it, it's still subjective. Some people like the CTS. I think it looks like a piece of poo. Some people like the Avalanche. I think it looks like a piece of poo. Some people like the Nissan 350Z. I think it looks like a piece of poo and wonder why its fans rave about its interior since the interior pieces FEEL much cheaper than the car is. I don't think the 350Z can keep up with M3s either. In fact, from what I've read in those magazine rags that always praise imports, the 350Z actually has understeer and plows more than it should. Unless you get the track package (read as: rough ridin'), the car isn't a super impressive handler. Most people blindly bow down simply because it's Japanese and it has that VQ 3.5L that everybody seems to think is boss.

If it was the same car I would still get it. But I would feel like I was missing something without a pony on the front. I have kept the pony from the front grill off of my two previous mustangs before getting rid of them

If for some reason aliens took over Ford and killed the Mustang but replaced it with a car just as good or better with a different name I think I would buy it.

you guys are thinking if it was replaced. I was thinking if the name wasnt mustang back in 1962 or 63. When it was still a concept. it couldve been the same car but different name, and still hae the little horsey. I dont see what the name has to do with changing the way it looks. you build the car then name it. besides it was named after the p-51 mustang, not the horse.

I've seen the car - it looks great.
I sat in the car - I'm comfortable.
It's expected to have decent reliability.
It's in my price range.
It's gonna do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

It would certainly be on my short list no matter what the name was, or even what company produced it.
