Storage? What's that? I drive my 'stang all year, even when it snows. Next year, I may actually break down and buy some snow tires!

Took mine out today

I hit the highway today.
The back roads still have salt and ice,but I am only 3 blocks from the highway.
It felt so good.
Of course, they are predicting a little more snow this week.

We got 8 inches overnight, but it's melting fast. I haven't seen yet if the salt shaker patrol has dumped their usual ridiculous amount of salt yet. That's the reason I wait a few days after the snow, so the salt is rediced to a fine dust on dry roads, even though I have my ultra high performance all season F1 eagle G3's on my old stock 18x8.5 64W's. Storage???

As if I could stay away from my 'Stang for that long...let alone that it's my only car!

No, for me, spring marks the point when I can take the 250lbs of sandbags out of my trunk!

i took mine out last night to go out with some friends. but they all wanted to take one car and since the mustang cant fit 5, i ended up driving to a friends house 5 minutes away and then we all piled into his mazda3. as we drove away i was so disappointed because i was really looking forward to finally driving the pony. ah well, i still get to show it off to the relatives today when they come over for easter. i love seeing them when they see it sitting in the driveway ahahaha

I just put a little less than a 100 miles on my convertible yesterday with the top down. Beautiful warm sunny day here in Contra Costa county. That's the east San Francisco bay area for those of you who don't know. The high was in the mid-70's.

I love my car!

I haven't taken mine out once the past 5 months. Even if there isn't any snow on the ground, there is still a lot of salt and rocks. Plus I'd have to release some air from the tires, remove the battery maintainer, remove the moisture barrier sheet under the car, etc... I'll just wait for the day that winter actually takes a hike.

No, we don't need to move. We just need a winter vehicle and a good weather vehicle. I nominate the Subaru WRX STI as a winter car. It's faster and handles better than the Shelby GT. Then in the summer I can take the Stang out.

Here in the north east you never know what the weather will be, it has been sunny for a couple of days but could snow anytime. Hope to get the '05 out the first week of April and the '65 out sometime around mid April.

They are projecting more snow and sleet for the rest of this week.

Yep, it snowed here the other day too, what a mess. I had to drive to work in the worst of that stuff, many accidents and close calls. Anything rear-drive was sliding around like crazy. Even the Escort I'm going to work and back in felt a little dicey in that stuff.

You gotta be careful. Here were many ugly accidents with lots of dead people and badly injured.

My horse will sit this out in her stable. Looks like this is all over on Friday this week.

Can't wait for it.

This was by far one of the worst winters within the past 5 years. The snow storms were larger in frequency and always threw down a sizable amount of snow on the roads.

The snow tires, limited slip differential, and traction control made things a little easier in my RWD Crown Victoria. I wish I had an AWD car like a WRX STI so my front wheels could at least help pull the car through unplowed snow. Dynamic stability control would also help. I rely on my Vic's trac ctrl as a poor man's stability control because I find that it helps reduce fishtailing.
