windshield dot matrix

How durable is the dot-matrix stuff right above the rear view mirror? I recently gave in to the so cal traffic and purchased a fast-track pass to drive on the 91 freeway toll roads and others as well. After the transponder fell from the dash a few times onto the center console, I decided to mount it right above the rear view mirror (so it wasnâ€™t too visible). Now that its up I wondering if I ever decided to remove it would that Velcro stuff tear up the dot matrix stuff.

I think the bordering on the glass, including the dots, is laminated or at least baked on so it would require scraping with a sharp object to damage it.
