I'm just wondering if people with 2005 Mustangs with V8's will show love for the people with the V6 '05. I know in previous years, a lot of people looked down on anything less than the GT and often treated them like "ricers" just because it didn't have a V8. But with the new style and improved power output, I already have tremendous respect and love for the V6. ![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I wouldn't be ashamed or disappointed to drive one. Of course, if it were up to me, I'd choose the GT for more power and the foglights ('69 & '70 are my favorite years). But if I had to "settle" for a V6, I'd still be a very, very happy man. I'm just curious what the rest of you all think.

The GT to me is my personal toy. If I were to buy an everyday driver it would be the V-6. I have the 4.0 in the truck I drive and have a great deal of respect for the torque and power it has. To me, the two cars are for different purposes. They are both '05's and I think they are a great car to drive.

Those who diss it are just ignorant, and are completly unaware that without the V6 we wouldn't have a GT.

It is a maturity issue analogous to, "My dad can kick your dad's but!" "Or my car is faster than yours; therefore, I am more tough and macho." This is like Napolean complex; people trying to overcompensate for feeling inferior and thus ridiculing others at their expense.

Honestly, yeah, Tony, you are right, without the V6 we wouldn't have the GT, but that still doesn't make the V6 as good as the GT.
I think V6s are weak, but that is just me. My roommate has a 00 V6 vert and he plans on tricking it out. That is ok for him, but for me, I need speed. If I didn't want something fast, there are a lot better cars out there than a V6 Stang. That is why of the 50-some cars that I've owned, the 8 which were Mustangs were ALL V8.
I guess it comes down to personal taste, but I think V6 Mustangs are kinda dumb. JMO.

The Mustang isn't just about the power. The Mustang is also about a look and feel. When I drive my V6 I don't feel ashamed. I feel proud to be driving the finest American car on the road. I get compliments on my car (stock as it is) and that makes me feel good. It's a nice ride and I wouldn't have it any other way . . . well except maybe a new tranny and dual exhaust would make me a tad happier!
The V6 also gave me a chance to buy my wife her dream car. Except now we are divorced and she isn't getting it! The 6er is mine!! MINE!!

I'm getting the V6 for my daily driver & I love the looks. I'd get the GT if I could afford it & wanted to race at the strip on weekends. Have no respect or likes for people who race on the street. With stop signs & traffic lights, the GT wouldn't get me farther than the V6 anyway in rush hour traffic. 35-55 MPH is 35-55 MPH no matter what you have under the hood & you can't go faster because of the volume of traffic. V8's of all sorts look great & pass by me all the time, then I'm right behind or next to them again at the next red light. When my V6 Firebird was new it looked beautiful. I'd have guys come up next to me at a light reving their engines then peel off at the green. I'd just take off slow & easy looking cool & beautiful. They'll beat me in a straight line, but an oval track or road course will be another story if they're not savvy enough to avoid spinning or hitting a wall. Anyway I'll look at the Mustang GT's as my big brothers or sisters. I just love the styling & appearance of both models.

I have an '00 v6 and I love driving it...but I do miss the low rumble that I hear when I pull up next to a guy in my neighborhood that has a Black GT....
I'd never put anyone down with a V6...hey, if you enjoy it, who cares?

I didn't drive it, I just sit in it & played with it, because he knew I have one on order already.
BTW The_Wretched ~ If YOU wanna pay the difference in the car & pay the difference in my insurance. Then I WILL get the GT. Till then quit whining about the V6's. If not for us buying the 6cyl you would be out there driving a camero, firebird, civic, or some other car sports car. Because there would be NO mustang.

I love it when this comes up....V6 vs. the V8 GT. There's always 1 or 2 people who slam V6 owners
...then out comes the SVT or Cobra and 1 or 2 people start slamming the GT's
Look I bought the V6 for a few reasons. First I don't need the V8 so why spend more $$ on something I don't need? Next, I don't like the foglights...just personal preferance, I had a '70 BOSS 302 and I liked the '70 grille better than the '69 grille and the V6 reminds me of the '70 style grille. Also Im restoring a '67 coupe with a Hi-Po 289. Im getting it done up right, so when I want to go racing, Ill be in that
. In the mean time I'll be VERY happy, and hold my head up VERY high, while I drive my '05 V6.
I have never driven a Mustang I haven't been proud of it, and Ive owned ALOT of Mustangs, Even a Mustang II  People who talk down the V6 version of the car need to step back and take some pride in the larger picture of what the Mustang is all about. The '05 version is a beautiful car...no matter what engine is in it.
And on a final note. I have a friend who has a PINTO...thats right a PINTO with a 6 cyl. in it that would blow away just about any road driver V8 out there
It just goes to show ya that ya never know whats under the hood!!!
Now for a pic of my girls!!!

They are both great cars (GT and V-6). :worship: I will always give the big thumb up no matter which version I meet on the roadway.

Love them both...GT for me, but for those who can't handle the 8, I'm glad there's a 6 available so they can have style and are somewhat limited to the retarded antics they can pull...(aka wrap themselves around a phone pole...sure you could do it with a 6, but its not as likely)...
