I like the stock spoiler fine.
There are aftermarket spoilers that are okay too.
I dont care for body kits so the stocker looks fine for me.

Too each their own.
The more people that wear tails, the more "unique" mine will be. Besides, if Hau Tai Tang designed it without a tail, that's good enough for me.

Got the spoiler delete, like the clean lines, looks more like the car it was born from, the 67-68 stangs. The spoiler is useless anyway. The only thing is Ford should give you a credit for the spoiler delete.

Dang, too tall? And here these guys are discussing having a "true fastback" designed as a new model:

IMO, the car looks much "cleaner" without it. It serves no functional purpose, and has just a little rice feel to it. You don't see them on Corvettes, and you didn't see them on the '66-'68 Mustangs which our cars most resemble.

My car was built today --
Without the rear spoiler.
I like the clean classic look.
My 2001 has a spoiler. I'm ambivalent about it -- although I think that it adds more to the 99-04's than the 05-08's.
To me it is a matter of personal choice -- one of the few left when you think about the fact that there were literally 1000s of combinations of color /engine/trans and options in the 60's -- now there are probably less than 100.

Well while most 70's GM were some variation on a ducktail but you can't forget the Olds 442 rear spoiler. That one was a big ol' wing. Or the 69 Trans AM rear spoiler which was a shorter version of it.
In 92 The Camaro RS and Z28's had a wing type spoiler too. The Mach1's had wing spoilers too.
Not saying they looked good but Even Ford played around with Wing spoilers across the models like the 69 Torino GT.

The Stang has fine lines and looks fantastic without it. The GT spoiler is purely a codpiece that, if anything, detracts from performance -- just some cheesy tack on mandated by the sales department for the peacocks of the Mustang buyers.
I'm not necessarily against all spoilers. The GT500 spoiler looks better integrated and probably does contribute at least a modicum of downforce, performance and functionality. And the original Mach I, Boss spoilers did, I believe, also provide a modicum of downforce -- were even adjustable if I recall. But the GT spoiler is little more than a blocky, show-offy ego booster -- all style, no substance -- I prefer my style to have substance, even in the details.
And, ahem, strut tower braces DO add to a cars handling performance -- performance is not all straight line acceleration -- by eliminating shock tower deflection in hard cornering and bumps, thus sharpening steering response and accuracy.

A spoiler isn't necessary, but can look nice if done right. I like the look wihtout it, but I love mine. It goes nicely with the black chin, shaker scoop and rear panel.

I don't hate it but I took mine off because I like the clean, low profile look better. But it does look really good when painted flat black, then it reminds me of the wings used in '69 -'70.....

A 67-68 may have come without a spoiler, but lets face it, a 05-08 do. I have a spoiler on my 07 GT and thought about having it removed for awile but I've grown to like the way it looks. I love the GT500 spoiler but I'm a purist when it comes to exterior. Now what's under the hood is a different story.

For the large number of mustang owners who don't modify their cars, I think the rear spoiler is a welcome touch. A simple way to accent its muscle car heritage. From what I understand, there is no credit for the spoiler delete so you're better off keeping it on when you buy just to turn around and sell it for money towards another mod.

Honestly the car looks great. I have a Torch Red with the Xenon rear and CDC Aggressive chin sitting in the garage awaiting d/o at the body shop. I have been kicking around a blackout panel but was wondering what it'd look like without the emblem. Thanks, I'm sold.
