Who makes a quiter sounding catback?

Who makes a tamer catback system for long tube headers and x pipe with no cats?

Not exactly the same, but I have an x-pipe with hi-flo cats and I tried both Borla/FRRP Stingers and the Flowmaster catback, and either combination was way too loud for routine driving, not only for my wife but eventually even for me.

I changed over to the Ford Racing "quiet" catbacks (with the oval mufflers) and it sounds perfect to me now. It is still much louder than stock, I guess idle is slightly louder. Not sure if you were looking to quiet it down at all RPM's or not, but even with these mufflers WOT is screamingly throaty with an hi-flo x-pipe.

It was the idle and low RPM cruising where I was getting too much ambient noise and vibration in the cab with the x-pipe and the other cat-back systems. However, the quiet FRRP system did the trick.

The FRPP GTA mufflers will definitely be a lot quieter that the Borlas. I don't know if anyone is running them with long tubes.

CaliHPAddict runs AR headers with a magnaflow cat back and it sounds down right quiet for normal driving but sounds like a MONSTER at WOT. Not sure what he is running for a mid-pipe.

Just to clarify, the one's I have are the FRPP (Borla made) M-5230-5GTQ cat-back, with Borla embossed on the mufflers and Ford racing embossed on the tips.

They are not the Stingers, but sound similar with a very low throaty sound. I think the GTA mufflers are quite a bit different, wish I had a set to try out just for comparisons. Correct me if I'm wrong about the GTA's.

I think Borla only makes the stingers (50 state legal version and 49 state legal) like that and ford racing only has 2 options for the 05+ but I could be wrong

You could go with stock GT mufflers, I happen to have a set that I am not using...

I've got some stockers with the polished tips for sale

IMO, the stockers sound great, just quiet. But with other mods, I'm sure they'd be just right.

Borla makes two FRPP catbacks, the 50 state legal quiet version with flat oval cross-section mufflers, and the 49 state version which are the round cross-section Stingers. I have a set of both. The GTA catback is something else entirely.
