"White" setting for MyColor

I've read in previous posts that many of you were disappointed in the preprogrammed "White" MyColor setting. The white is dingy and dirty looking and some of you said you wish there was a way to get the same white color that the gauges are when the headlights are off. Well tonight, I was playing around with the settings and came up with a solution.

Instead of using Ford's preprogrammed "White" MyColor setting, go to the custom screen and use the following settings for Red, Green and Blue:

R5 G5 B2

Once you have it saved, turn off the headlights and back on again. You will only notice a slight difference in the gauge brightness between when the headlights are off and when they're on. This is about as close as you can get to when the headlights are off. It actually looks pretty sweet at night, although blue is still my favorite.

Enjoy!!!

not bad, I've also grown partial to the greyish R1 G1 B1 - it makes the needles really stand out....

I just went to the car and checked it again to make sure I had the right numbers. 551 is as yellow as you can get. As soon as you bump up the blue to 552, it turns white. 553, 554 and 555 are even brighter white.

+1... I can't seem to get MyColor to do any satisfactory yellows, reds, or any combination thereof.

It's great for blue, purple, and green.

I usually just leave it at green now.

Red, blue, green and purple really pop on mine, especially at night...

I did do white for a while, but found myself leaving the lights on or not turning them on since the color was the same as when they're off... LOL! My car would yell at me when I would leave the lights on as I was getting out of the car... So, I switched back to green... Green is the color I use most often as well...

I drove my dads car the other day, and I have found that it is easy to accidently forget to turn on the lights becuase the dash lights come on at startup. With my car, I cant forget becuase at night, I cant see my guages unless the lights are on.....

if you turn your mycolor settings to white, it would only make this problem even worse. At least I can always remind myself that... "unless the dash is blue, the lights are off."

Yup, I wanted yellow pretty bad when I first got the car. If you notice you can't "recreate" some of the regular colors with the my color setting (try red.. you can't get it!). It's as if the blue setting is 2 notches too strong. Right after I got my car I went back to the dealer to check out other cars and they were all the same. I stick with the regular colors now. blue rules!
(but I'll admit.. I do use green a lot b/c it blends with the dash)

5-5-4 is a nice, bright white.

5-5-5 is too distracting for me and 5-5-1/2 is too yellow
