When should I get my DORA and VIN

Just wondering. I ordered about 2 weeks ago, and I don't want to bug the dealership, but I want to know when my DORA is here and when I can get a VIN.

Also, when I ordered they did not give me a "receipt".........should I worry?

There is no set time to getting a VIN. It should take around 2-3 weeks, however.

getting a VIN totally depends on the number of orders a dealer has VS. the allotment the dealer has. A dealer can place as many orders as they want, but they will only be pulled into the Ford Order System once they have an available allocation. Then once it is "Scheduled" is when the VIN is assigned.

There are people who have ordered in August or even before who have still not received a VIN.

They told me my order was pulled from Ford. Doesnt that mean I should have a DORA?

If Ford got the order, the dealer should have a DORA for your car. All you should have to do is ask for a copy of it.

As for your VIN, it could show up next week or next month. I ordered 8/9/04 and still haven't gotten my VIN, but I'm scheduled to be built next week.

How could I have ordered and have a VIN assigned, but no scheduled build date yet? It has been about 3 weeks since I received the VIN. I would have expected a scheduled date by now if the cars are built in some kind of sequence.
