Anyone else waiting for a VIN?

Just checking to see if there is anyone else out there still waiting on their VIN. I had a Bullitt ordered on Nov 12th but have not received a VIN yet.

Am I the only one or are there others?

Ordered 11-14... no VIN. But, I complained enough and my salesguy did too... the regional manager gave my order a priority of 01... so I should have a car in less than 2 weeks!

Ordered 11-15 ... no VIN. I'm thinking I may enjoy my 05 for another summer and see what 2009 brings.

From what I understand Ford is going to ramp up production on the Bullitt when they re-open

I would be ALL OVER my dealer about this. They can't control Ford or the order process, but they can at least apply some pressure on their regional rep.

My car had already been ordered for "stock" and is due Jan 16th. Myself I wouldn't mind if it's delayed, as I'd rather have it arrive closer to Spring than Winter.

I am not worried about the delay, I will not drive the Bullitt until the weather gets warmer. Patience is a Virtue. I am ordering the extra set of rims and better tires, car cover, nose bra now. I already have the 3M film pieces for the areas were the gravel roads would chip the paint.I would like the Bullitt to be delivered before the first MCA National, so I can show it. I have been waiting since 2001 for this Bullitt, so a few more days will not matter.

If the 2008 is not here before 20 march, I will drop the lift, hook up the batery, and drive the 2001 Bullitt to Florida.

I think ya'll are right, waiting till the weather gets better is a good thing.

My thinking is that if I have a VIN then I am indeed getting a car. Without a VIN I feel that I may not get one. I can wait on the car but that VIN (and window sticker) would ease my mind some.

I plan to take this car to the local SCCA AutoX starting the first part of April. I would like a few weekends in it to get a feel for RWD. I've only run FWD cars and I expect to have to relearn some things.

Moonshiner,

Where did you get the 3M film? I'm also thinking about pulling the stock rims and tires at delivery and running some black Torq-thrusts...

On the rims, I ordered the 2007 Black Shelby rims, that are stock. tires ordered are BFG KDW 2.

..........
I have also heard that Ford will increase production and allocation.

Good point about Regions, they have a lot of control in this. They are part of the problem in the whole process.

I agree with Kirk, my main concern was getting the VIN assigned, it's a sort of confirmation that Ford has taken teh order seriously and the car will be built.

My salesguy confirmed that production has been increased a good deal for Jan 2nd and on (factories open back up tomorrow, I believe). I put a lot of pressure on my dealer and they in turn rode the regional manager for about 3 weeks utnil he or she finally gave me a priority 01. If you ordered over 5 weeks ago, get on them about not having a VIN.

Thanks...I'll check them out. I'm thinking of the AR/Shelby 20s in black.

If your car has a Jan 18 delivery, it was assigned a VIN a while ago. Your dealer should know it.

Bad news for those of you still waiting for a VIN. I just heard from a close friend who works within Ford (not at a dealership) that there is a supplier side issue that is going to really delay Bullitts for the next couple months. Jan & Feb Bullitt production will be very, very minimal until the supplier in question can get back up to speed for Ford. My contact couldn't say which piece/parts/supplier is to blame, but he won't be getting the Bullitt he ordered for himself anytime soon, just like many of you here.

On a positive note, our first Bullitt arrived yesterday (highland green with minimal options and sold at MSRP as promised). The customer we ordered it for picked it up last night. Now if we could just get our other Bullitt orders scheduled!

I have a 'blend date' of 12/19/07. Do you suppose I will be part of the cars delayed? I actually WANT it delayed, less driving in the winter!
