Hi Scott
the active alarm has motion sensors up in the map/interior lite pod, it has an anti tow sensor . but no vibration sensor . it is active anytime the car is locked with the remotes or with the power locks, You can go into the trunk with the system armed it will turn off motion sensors when trunk is opened with key or remote. and re arm when closed. You can also turn the alarm on without activating the motion sensor. you just have to close the doors and use the key to lock the car

i hope this helps im sorry for the long read,

any more questions just ask

Mark, I have a question for you. Have you ever heard the alarm go off? Is it the horn that is activated or is it a remote siren? My Stang has every option except the active alarm and im in the market for a system for protection. Im tossing around aftermarket systems and Fords active alarm system. What do you think?.....

Hi Craig

Actually no i havent heard it go off i will try it tomorrow at work. i know there is a separate sounding horn for the active system but havent heard it, im not sure you can put that system in after the car is built but you can put in fords accessory alarm and it warrantied by ford if they install it at the dealer . i will let you know how it sounds

So actually it's the horn that is activated and not some cheap afterthought of a siren...........Correct. I much prefer the horn over a cheap sounding siren anyday.

The system monitors the doors, trunk and hood. It will go off if someone tries to tow the car. If the alarm is set with the windows down, it will go off if someone reaches inside your vehicle.
