I had just gased up and gotten back on I35, I needed to pass a truck so I downshifted to 4th and gave it a little gas and......my GT hesitated, like it slipped out of gear or something?

Any ideas?

I was kinda thinking it might be the gas, but I really have no idea.

two different times, accelerating from 85 or so the car kind of jerked, or missed or something. very wierd, and i thought it was just a fluke.

hmmmm.....wonder what it is....

I would take it to the dealership, but I really don't want them to "re-create" the problem...

lol no doubt....

i took mine to the dealership last week to get it re-aligned (camber adjustment due to pro kit install) and the gas tank replaced (tsb)

they put 25 miles on the car....but no work got done....they need to order parts, but they did say they checked the alignment and confirmed it "needed alignment"

Yeah try that with the Trac Control off. I have a Lincoln LS with Advance Trac and
a few times when I've left my side street to turn on to a 40MPH road (everyone doing >= 50MPH) I gun it and the car hesitates. Then I get a Check AdvanceTrac.

No problem with the thing off. GIve it a shot and let us know.

LOL ..... those that have never experienced TC go through this all the time .... You have to remember you are driving a fairly sophisticated car and it knows how to "behave".

There are tons of threads on Cobras on how to disengage the TC to "off" when the car is started. I'm sure it will only be a matter of time before there are some for the '05s.

Try being at a track event and thinking there was something majorly wrong with your car !! I did at Nashville. It was so bad going onto the transition onto the back straight away that I almost stopped the rest of my sessions.

Major brain fart .... I was so pumped to get back on the track, my initial "start up" instincts (read as --turn off TC) did not kick in ....

there already is a way to turn off the traction control system pernamently, it's called get a SCT tune. They have found the codes to unlock just about everything on the 05 mustang and will be my eventual choice of tuner. By the way, it's not difficult to turn off the TCS yourself either.

Since the traction control and antilock brakes are 1 package to buy....does turning off the tracation control also turn off the antilock brakes? If so this is a bad fix for the problem????

What do you think?

I have a v6 automatic and experienced the same situation on the highway and after exiting highway, when I would be stopped and go to take off from green light, it felt like the car stalled and then it caught and took off.
Only thing is.....No Traction Control.

That was while I was on vacation last month. It happened once shortly after I returned. It hasnt done it for the last 1K though.

TC....one day I tried to do a lil squeel with my tires and notta. It took me awhile to think about it and was like CRAP I forgot to shut off the TC. I am trying to get into the habit of shutting it off now when I first get in the car.

It's a side effect of the fly-by-wire throttle system. It doesn't like fast WOT inputs and the throttle blade closes momentarily while it figures out what to do next. Happened to me twice on the highway while trying to pass. It's not a confidence builder to have the car fall on its face when you plant the gas pedal down. I had the dealer reflash the computer and it's been good ever since but now I always turn the TC off unless the roads are really wet so I'm sure it is tied in. Bring back the throttle cable!!!

EDIT: It happened again this afternoon!!! WOT, TC on, major hiccup before accelerating. :bang:

i dont know if my problem is related but it sounds similar

ive got a 05 v6 automatic, and my car jerks also but only when putting it from park to drive.its like sometimes it doesnt catch the drive part and ill give it some gas and the engine will just rev then catch the gear and jerk.it happened a whole lot the first week i got the car.

in order for this not to happen i have to put it in drive then wait at least 1 second before giving it gas.ive driven many cars and never had to wait this long before giving it gas after putting it in drive.

its not a big problem but when it happens it annoys me.
