Weird speedo issue

So I was at the beach when I nosed the trouser snake hanging out of the speedo, any solutions?

Now to my real question, I was idling in a drive through when I noticed my speedometer was reading approximately 4mph while I was at a dead stop. The revs were normal, car not in gear and foot on the break. I gave the engine a rev and saw the tach go up. I turned the car off then back on, and the speedometer was fine. Any ideas? Seems like the needle just got hung up

You don't show what year your car is , but the early models had problems with the clusters going bad. When mine went bad the speedo and the fuel gauges were off , others have had rpm's be off too. I replaced mine with a GT500 cluster since it was about the same price as a GT cluster. Also , there are threads on here about replacing the stepper motors instead of the whole cluster , do a search for it.

Cluster motors are failing, it will only get worse. Google it, you can get the motors if your soldering skills are ok or just replace the cluster, if you have the info panel plug behind the center stack upper left panel you can get the MyColor and have the dealer program it.

doubtful, but if anything like a Mark VII lincoln cluster, they will go kinda nuts if the battery gets a little low...had 2 that with a low battery would show speed/change with engine revs, dimming lights or turning on fan(voltage change) would adjust mph at a standstill...neat thing was the odometer would tick off miles sitting there too
